上帝與蜘蛛網－雙連教會Power Station青年小家

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a
Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the
crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

第二次世界大戰期間, 一位美國海軍陸戰隊跟他的單位在太平洋小島分開了. 戰火如火如塗的進行著, 他跟他的同伴失去了聯絡.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his
direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to
several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the
caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy
soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search
all the caves and he would be killed.

在叢林裏, 他可聽到敵軍正往他這個方向走, 蹼匐前行他發現山脊旁的岩石有一適合洞穴正可藏身, 很快的他進去洞穴裏面.
雖然可得暫時的安全, 他發現敵軍正在依著山脊所有洞穴來搜索他的蹤跡要來殺他.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me.
Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

在那時他禱告著" 主阿! 若是祢的旨意, 請保護我. 不管祢的旨意如何, 我愛祢並且相信祢, 阿們!"

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw
close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out
of this one." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front
of his cave.

禱告完後, 他靜靜的躺下來傾聽敵軍已開始靠近, 他自忖道: "嗯, 我猜這次上帝不會幫我." 然後他看到一隻蜘蛛開始在洞穴前口織一個網.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while,
the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the
cave.

一邊看著, 一邊也聽著敵軍正在搜尋, 祇蜘蛛網線一縷一縷的在洞口橫繞著.

"Hah, he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has
sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

"哈!" 他想" 我所需要的是一磚牆但是上帝卻送來一面蜘蛛網. 上帝真是幽默."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout
and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to
his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however,
after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly,
he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked
as if no one had entered for quite a while.

敵軍越來越近並搜索所有可能洞穴, 他從他所藏身洞穴的暗處往外看, 敵軍正來到他的藏身洞穴, 他已準備好站起來.
然而, 驚奇的是, 敵軍只是匆匆看一眼, 然後繼續往前行.
突然之間他發現洞口的蜘蛛網使得他這個洞穴看起來像是很久沒有人進入一般.

"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in you
a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

" 主阿!, 原諒我," 這年輕人禱告著." 我忘記祢的蜘蛛網壯過於一磚牆."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to
forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most
surprising ways. And remember with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of protection.
